The Boot Camps will be intensive 5 day classes which go over the basics of throwing and trimming on the potter's wheel, along with dip glazing methods.

Monday & Tuesday- Throwing

The first two days of the class will be spent wedging clay, throwing on the wheel, concentrating on centering and throwing technique, and studio safety. Tips on how to avoid cracks (including the infamous S-crack!) or air bubbles, and make aesthetically pleasing pieces will be given.

Wednesday & Thursday- Trimming

These two days will focus on trimming the leather hard pieces that were thrown on Monday and Tuesday. We will spend time discussing the importance of the foot area of a piece and the different types of feet. From a tripod foot to a cut out foot, feet can make or break your pieces and serve as a frame for your signature.

Friday- Glazing

The following week we will meet up for a last time to learn about glazing. We will learn about safety, wax resist, dipping, brushing, and much more. Glazing tips and methods are endless, but we'll go over as much as our 3 hour class will allow us!

Price includes clay and bisque/glaze firings.

No prior experience is required. Demonstrations, group discussions and one-to-one attention will be given to each student.
