Cone 6 Glaze Firing Services

burning barrelPlease feel free to bring your stoneware or cone 6 porcelain to our studio for cone 6 firing.

We glaze fire to cone 6 in oxidation, using a slow firing protocol, with ramps at all the right places and a hold at maximum temperature to ensure glaze maturity, depth, and beauty.

You can use your own glazes (make sure they are tested), buy cone 6 glazes from our store, or use our studio glazes.

Our studio glazes are tested for leaching, durability, and we believe that we have the safest collection in the area.

If you bring your work to our studio for firing at cone 6, please make sure you have the appropriate clay body (not cone 06, earthenware) and that you use a cone 6 glaze.


Pricing for Cone 6 glaze firing:

4 cents per cubic inch using your glazes.
5 cents per cubic inch using our glazes.

If you use our studio glazes, there is a charge of $ 6 an hour for studio time.

If you wish to fire by the full kiln-load, the charge is $ 100
Using our glazes, full load is $150, no charge for studio time.

We have L&L Easy-Fire electric kilns which have a usable 25" round x 25" tall area.
