Glaze Low Fire Services (Earthenware)

There are a lot of independent ceramic artists who bring their work to be fired at our studio.

We low fire to cone 05, which is compatible with earthenware clay bodies and glazes.
Our pottery supply store carries a variety of clays for low fire.  There are clays suitable for wheelwork, hand-building and sculpture.  Low fire glazes are also available in the store.

Note that pricing for glaze firing is the same as that for bisque firing.

Pricing for low firing:

3 cents per cubic inch for most work

$ 1.50 a pound for sculptural work

65 cents a tile for 4"x4" tiles

$ 1.25 / tile for 6"x6" tiles

We can fit about a hundred 4"x4" tiles in our low fire kiln using tile setters (no glaze on bottom of tile).

We can fit about 50 6"x6" tiles in our low fire kiln

If you wish to fire by the full kiln-load, the charge is $ 80.
The kiln we use for low fire work is 7 cubic feet interior, not including
furniture, posts and necessary space.

Maximum width is 18" and height is 23".
