Skill Building Workshop
The focus of this workshop will be our studio cone
10 Reduction glazes here at
Creative Clay.
We love Shinos, Celadons, Copper Reds, Temmoku, and all
the funky cone 10 glazes we use for our Gas Kiln. Pictured at the right
are Al and Annette Hansen checking out the beauties during one of our kiln
openings.
We'll start with a brief overview of reduction firing,
take a look at the gas kiln, and look at samples of all the glazes we use at
Creative Clay.
We'll spend some time discussing the qualities and quirks
of each glaze and look at various combos.
Basic glazing techniques will be discussed.
Application of glazes, including various brush types, dipping,
sponging, pouring and other techniques will be part of this skill building mini-workshop.
Discussion about common glaze problems and how to solve them will be addressed.
This low-cost skill building mini-course will be offered periodically here at the
studio. We hope it will help you get
better results and explore new methods.
Bring a snack and a beverage for yourself; you'll get hungry thinking about
juicy cone 10R glazes. $10 for
Creative Clay Residents, Associates & Students $20 for all others |
