A Beauty by Malcolm Davis

Trapping Carbon and other Dirty Tricks: A Shino Firing with Malcolm Davis

We had a great weekend workshop with Malcolm, mixed up a bunch of Shino test batches, and fired up our kiln.

We kept it under lock and key for a week (restraint!) then got together for a great pot luck and kiln opening.  It was amazing!  Thanks Malcolm and everyone who participated!

Congratulations to Matt Freitas for winning an award with his Cat Jar at the Art Guild sculpture show in DC.

Joanne B. is perfecting her interpretation of the Seven Layer Raku we learned last summer during the Linda and Charlie Riggs workshop.

Resident Artist Lou Allstadt, who has the big space nearest the sliding door in the main studio, has wrapped up his recent travels and is working with clay again in earnest.

Congratulations to Ed Bull, Matt Freitas, Annette Hansen, and Dana Mitchell, members of our Creative Clay community who had work juried into the Artisans Center of Virginia in Waynesboro.

Lilianne M had a great show in Baltimore at the "Peep Show" at Gallery 1448.  She's back creating new masterpieces at our studio.  Say hello to her.
