Firing Services
We
offer a variety of firing services here at Creative Clay.
Many Ceramic artists from the area bring their work to us and we fire it with loving care. You are welcome to bring yours here also.
We
will bisque fire for you in one of our electric kilns. We can
bisque earthenware, terra cotta, stoneware, raku clay, and porcelain.
You can glaze fire your work here also. We have one electric kiln reserved for firing "low fire" earthenware. If you wish to fire to cone 6 in oxidation, we have another kiln reserved for that. You may use your own glazes or contact us to use our cone 6 studio glazes. We recently had a visiting potter produce some of the most beautiful work using our glazes.
If you wish, you may fire to cone 10 in reduction in our Bailey gas kiln. Clays must be suitable for cone 10 and you may use your own glazes or ours, we will price accordingly.
We
take great pride in the way we fire and the glazes we use. Come by and
take a look.
We also offer special on-site workshops to raku, pit, saggar, or horsehair fire your pieces. Let us know if you are interested.
Off-site wood firing and salt firing are offered throughout the year.
