Linda and Charlie Riggs

October 16 & 17, 2010
$200 (a bargain!)

Saggar Fired Vessel by Linda and Charlie Riggs

This will be a fantastic workshop!  Linda and Charlie are a wonderful team from North Carolina who will share their experiences with us on a variety of alternative firing methods and techniques.  We're REALLY looking forward to this!

Imagine our surprise when we pulled great pots out of the raku kilns, saggars and reduction cans the last time we had the Riggs here.

Throwing demos, terra sig, naked raku, two-layer raku, 7-layer raku, 'one-dip sludge slip', horsehair and iron fuming, saggar firing, ferric chloride tin foil saggars are among the techniques the Riggs are famous for.  We will do a subset of these over the weekend workshop and will be choosing which to do in the near future.!

Remember, it's going to be October in Washington....a beautiful time of year to plan a vacation around your workshop!!

Date: October 16 and 17, 2010
Provided: Light refreshments and probably grilled burgers and dogs.
What to Bring: Three to six small bisque pieces, enthusiasm and your notebook.
We'll try our best to get each one in a different method!

The last time we had this workshop, it filled up very quick!  We had people from as far as Canada, Chicago and Florida.  This time we've already gotten an email from Barbados! Get in while the gettin's good.  Get on the waiting list early!!
