Skill Building Workshop

This is part of a series of inexpensive skill building workshops demonstrating the creative use of slip.  Each will cover a different technique by artists here at the studio.

This workshop will focus on thick slip decoration.  Vase or cup forms will be dipped partially in thick creamy slip and then different "combing" techniques will be demonstrated.  We will also see thick slip applied to an open untrimmed platter form.

Everyone will then get a chance to try what they've learned on some leather hard pieces.  The studio will supply the slip.  Bring your own trimmed leather hard vase, bowl, or cup forms.  They do not have to be your best work if you just want to practice.  Of course, you can bring some beauties too.

The studio will also supply some modest cups for those who cannot bring their own leather hard work.
We do, however, ask that you let us know in advance if you need us to supply you with some practice pieces, that way we'll know how many to prepare.

This is a fun and squishy workshop.  Bring along something to drink and snack on if you wish.

Limited to 8 participants, sign up early.

What to bring: Bring your own trimmed leather hard vase, bowl, or cup forms.
